Shipment to Power Management Technology Leader
Marks 150th Legends™ System Sale Since
July ’08 Brand debut by OEM GROUP
PHOENIX, Nov. 15, 2011 OEM Group, Inc. shipped its 150th LEGENDS™ system last month. The milestone shipment, a repeat purchase by a Los Angeles-based pioneer and world leader in advanced power management technology, was an SFI Endeavor physical vapor deposition (PVD) system.
Launched during the July 2008 SEMICON West tradeshow, OEM Group’s LEGENDS brand has since earned a reputation as a proven semiconductor equipment portfolio for both mature semiconductor markets as well as emerging technology innovators. OEM Group exclusively owns the intellectual property for all 11 LEGENDS product lines and offers custom equipment design, software licensing and application development for LEGENDS equipment. The LEGENDS install base includes more than 33,000 supported systems.
“At present, our dynamic LEGENDS patent portfolio is the result of acquisitions from eight game-changing semiconductor companies,” said OEM Group CEO Wayne Jeveli. “And as part of those acquisitions we gained systems experts with more than 30 years experience within each LEGENDS tool set. Manufacturers―such as the purchaser of our 150th system―count on LEGENDS systems for operational continuity and fab productivity. And they turn to OEM Group for engineering expertise, process and field support, foundry services and applications development.”
The Endeavor PVD system we recently shipped has a unique ability to handle very thin substrates without a carrier. More and more we’re seeing power device manufacturers leveraging thinner substrates to improve device characteristics. It’s no surprise we currently support nearly 40 Endeavors in the field, Jeveli added.
